SXSW 2005: The Brit Invasion
Two years ago, I was one of just two Brits attending South By Southwest (SXSW), or at least that I was aware of; Simon Perry was the other Brit. This year it’s gonna be a whole lot different. So far, people from this side of the pond who are attending include (in alphabetical order):
- Andy Budd
- Andy Clarke
- Jon Hicks
- Jeremy Keith
- Dunstan Orchard
- Richard Rutter
- Simon Willison
- Patrick Griffiths
But can this really be all of us? If you’re a Brit who’s speaking, attending in a social capacity or whatever, please drop me a line or add a comment below. It’d be great to round all us Brits together for an evening. We could talk ‘rubbish’ (not trash), witter on about the off-side rule and generally ‘bamboozle’ all those Americans within ear-shot with our crazy phaseology. Who’s up for it?
Austin Beckons, London Calling
Well, I still haven’t done anything with this site, and to be honest I think the best thing I can do is tear it all down to the ground and start again, so I’m gonna begin by deleting the existing styles and go with an off-the-shelf number. You never know, I might start blogging again soon. In the meantime, you could always read through my travel blog or my more recent experiences with the old veedub that I imported from Aus
Also, I’ll be heading to Austin TX again soon for the annual pilgrimage to South by Southwest (SXSW). I’ll be on a panel there entitled “Accessibility: Can’t We Just All Get Along”. Maybe see you there?
Soon after that, I’ll be doing another presentation in London for @Media, also on the topic of web accessibility. If you can come along and say hello at either event, it’d be great to see you.
