I brought my camera along but, true to form, I didn’t once actually get the darn thing out, much as I did (or didn’t) at South by Southwest this year or any other social gathering of that ilk. Strangely, when I’m on holiday, I have no problem taking photos, but when it’s up close and personal, I always feel a bit silly takig snaps. I shouldn’t, of course, because everyone else is! But herein also lies the solution – why bother to worry about taking photos when there are so many others around me to document the weekend pictorially for me?
